AM11:10 – AM11:40 Nonomiya Shrine (30 min)
This shrine is mentioned in “The Tale of Genji,” the oldest epic novel in the world. Feel the 1,200 years of history at this ancient shrine.
AM11:50 – PM12:20 Stroll through Sagano Bamboo Grove (30 min)
Walk the narrow path through this incredible bamboo forest which stretches from Nonomiya Shrine to Tenryu-ji Temple. On clear days, the sunlight filters down through the towering bamboo stalks, making for a pleasant stroll. On rainy days, the forest is dim, creating a mystical atmosphere for visitors to experience.
PM12:30 – PM14:00 Tenryu-ji Temple (Lunch) (90 min)
A World Heritage site. The Japanese garden is complimented by the beautiful landscapes of Arashiyama, and has been registered as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty.
Savor a lunch of Buddhist vegetarian cuisine inside Tenryu-ji, prepared with seasonal ingredients.

Among the beautiful mountains, Arashiyama is a location famous for its scenery. Here a bridge spans Oi River which flows through the area. The bridge offers a great view of the surroundings with a total length of 250 meters.
